Logical Whole

A universal concept whose “parts” are the particulars that fall under it (e.g., “human” as the whole for Zayd and ʿAmr). The whole is predicated of each part (“Zayd is a human”). This universal whole is the subject of logic, forming the basis of definition and demonstration.
